- Register your name at the nearest neighborhood police station within the first seven days of your arrival in Gabon.

- If your parents are permanent residents of Gabon, you are not required to obtain a student residence visa provided that you are still a dependent of your parent.
- If you are an Gabonese/dual national male student or your father is Gabonese, the Gabon government recognizes you as a citizen of Gabon.
- You are entitled to a six-month stay in Gabon as an Gabonese citizen without any obligations.
- The student can stay 60 days after completion of their academic program. The student is expected to complete their studies in the nominated time.
- A Study visa allows the holders to live and work (in a restricted manner) in Gabon for as long as they need to complete their course in order to help support themselves and any dependents.
The Student visa form from your college or university is necessary to support your application for the visa. Remember that each International student visa is different and what visa you need to apply for depends on your special circumstances in Gabon.

- You need funding for your education and your living expenses while you are in Gabon
- Remember that you cannot work while in Gabon on a student visa.

- If your visa does not get approved you will not get your money back so check your documents well before applying.
- Private medical insurance must be arranged and documentary evidence of this must be provided.
- Application form need to be completed and sign, this form you will get at the Gabon Embassy.
- You need a valid passport with passport expiration date of 6 month beyond your intended study in Gabon.
- You need a photograph 1 by inches square (37 x 37mm) showing your full face
- If you are applying for a F1 student visa remember you I-20A-B form from your college or university.
- If you are applying for a student visa bring the proof that you have enough money to support yourself to the Gabon Embassy. It must be shown that the course fees have been paid in full.
- It is very important when speaking to the Gabon Embassy officer; make sure that you prove to them that you have strong family ties in your home country and that you will leave Gabon after completion of your education there.
- This is very important in your application process. Proof of ties to your home country could be family there mother,father brother sister. Letter from a future employer or a car in your name that you still have in your home country. Anything that you can show that you are coming back is good when you talk to the Gabon officer at the embassy.

- Copies of parents passports
- Covering letter from school to immigration department indicating year of admission and duration of study;
- Attach copies of parents Immigration status like work permit if parents are residents in Gabon and
- Parents do not live or work in Egypt, applicants should attach Letter from parent acknowledging relationship of the resident guardian and child or student in Gabon, consent or covering letter from guardian addressed to the Commissioner Immigration Control Department.,
- Immigration status of host or guardian e.g. work permit or Passport.
- Attach identification card issued by institution of learning.
Students undertaking post graduate program should provide copies of previous academic qualifications.
