An Angolan Visa can be obtained online or from the Angolan embassy. The basic requirements for the Angolan visa are a valid passport with at least 6 months' validity, two blank visa pages, and invitation letter with at least three months' validity.

For potential students to obtain a visa they need to apply with the following:

  • A valid passport with at least two blank pages.
  • A visa request application letter
  • Copies of plane tickets
  • Copies of hotel reservation or alternative accommodation.
  • Proof of sufficient funds, for example in the form of a bank statement.
  • An international certificate for yellow fever vaccination
  • A completed visa application form
  • A money order

Visa requirements vary depending on the nature of travel or the conditions of the applicant. For prospective students who have families or are married, they have to consult with the Angolan embassy to find out other requirements for their spouses to join them in Angola.

For those below the majority age, they have to have written consent from their parents or guardians, their birth certificate and copies of their parents or guardians passports, and residence permits.

An online application is faster than manual application. For an online visa application, a confirmation will be sent to you which you will use to obtain the visa upon arrival.

It is important to note that even if you are granted this confirmation or if this e-Visa is approved, it does not automatically mean that you are automatically granted entry but u still need to get the visa upon arrival or entry into Angola.

The general visa fees can vary depending on the type of travel or visa needed. Fees for the Angolan visa is $120. This cost does not include postage fees, service fees, and other related costs that may occur.

Application for an Angolan Visa usually takes 7 to 10 working days upon application or upon arrival which is usually valid for 14 days.

There are some countries exempted from requiring a visa to travel to Angola and these include Botswana, Cape Verde, Mauritius, Namibia, Rwanda, Mozambique, Singapore, Seychelles, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Note that your Visa application may be accepted or denied by the relevant authorities and that an e-Visa does not guarantee entry but you will need to obtain the visa upon arrival.
