Basic Requirements for Latvian Residence Permit and Long-stay Visa:

Bangladeshi students, who intend to enter Latvia on study purposes, must apply for a residence permit at the Embassy of Latvia in India in person. Once the decision on granting rights of residence is made, student can apply for a long stay visa at the Embassy of Latvia in India.

Documents to be submitted in order to receive a residence permit:
✔ A definite sample form for a residence permit request;
✔ A photograph;
✔ A statement on punishability issued by a competent institution of the citizenship or the host country (for a foreigner more than 14-year-old), if a foreigner has resided in that country longer than 12 months.
✔ A document confirming the necessary subsistence;
✔ A document confirming the envisaged place of residence in the Republic of Latvia and the rights to stay there;
✔ A document confirming the state duty payment;
✔ An agreement on studies in the Republic of Latvia;
✔ Documents confirming that you have acquired the necessary education to start the studies;

Documents required for a visa application:
✔ A valid travel document (passport)
✔ A visa application form filled out and signed;
✔ A photograph;
✔ A copy of a document confirming that the applicant has adequate and valid travel medical insurance policy;
✔ Documents, including the purpose of the journey and documents in relation to accommodation, or documents indicating that a letter of invitation has been approved by the OCMA (the invitation is valid for 6 months from the date of approval);
✔ Documents indicating that the applicant possesses sufficient means of subsistence both for the duration of the intended stay and for the return to his country of origin or residence, or for the transit to a third country into which he is certain to be admitted (14 EUR per day);
✔ A receipt confirming the fee payment.
